Second Chance-Happy Tales

This is our favorite page on the website! Dogs in this section have found a happy home with their adoptive families through Second Chance. Once you have adopted a dog through Second Chance Dog Rescue, we would love to post your "Happy Tails" story and pictures here. Please email your stories and pictures to Lisa.

Second Chance Dog Rescue is proud to announce the following adoptions that have taken place since 2004. Most of the dogs that come into Second Chance Dog Rescue were either on their final days or very close to it. Each of the dogs that are taken into the rescue are examined by the vet and provided with all shots, as well as they are neutered or spayed and heartworm tested. The majority of the dogs are often very sick and may also need time to just "feel better". For many of you that adopted from us, our house was just the first step; your home has become your new pet's final step in finding his/her "forever home". Hopefully, as time has gone on, your new friend is settling in and the pain that we once saw in his eyes is turning into the joy of knowing that his forever home is one that is filled with love and security.

To read our happy tails simply click on the first letter of the dog's name to see the happy tails of all the dogs whose name begins with that letter.

Beau

Hi Lisa and Jesse,

Beau is an absolute joy. He has brought so much love into our home I cannot even describe it. From the moment he arrived it was if he had been here since birth. He fit in immediately. He is so funny that sometimes I laugh until I cry. As soon as his paws hit the ground outside, he flips over on his back and rolls around in the grass. Then he is off to growl around with his toys. Running around in circles, toy in mouth and growling all the while. He is extremely bright. It only took 2-3 times of showing him the doggie door and he had it mastered. He has since learned to sit using both voice and/or hand signals. His vet says he is in great health, perfect weight. His vet was truly amazed at what a great dog he is. She told me I definitely had "a winner". I agree with her completely. At night he waits until I am settled into bed and here comes the little guy. He jumps up on the bed (I am amazed at how high he can jump given his size and all). He looks for his perfect spot which always happens to be up against me, and burrows underneath the covers! And I mean completely underneath the covers. Thank you so much for bringing Beau and I together. He is truly a blessing.

Regards, Laura

Bailey

Thought I would send some current pictures your way...I saw online that Jackson is still available...Bailey is a DEAD RINGER for her brother...

Benni

We couldn't be happier with Benni and with Second Chance Rescue. Now our family is complete! Jen

By the way Benni is so cool- thanks for everything! He is so fast! He creeps up next to you without you even hearing him and he outruns everyone.

Later, Jen

Betty

Hello Lisa!

Took Betty to the Vet today and she checked out perfectly healthy! Thank you so much again for Betty! We absolutely love her!!

Brittney

Here are some pictures of Brittney and Wilson playing. She seems very happy. Wilson and Brittney get along great. I think Wilson is very happy to have a little sister. Brittney is settling into her new environment very well. She's only had accident's in the house on her first day. Since we bought the crate she seems more at home. She's adjusted to the invisible fence. She seems to know where the boundaries are. I'm hoping to take pictures of the children this weekend to send you. Attached is a picture of Brittney after one of her hunting expeditions. She's muddy from head to toe. She was trying to get something that went under the shed. She will spend hours digging through the leaves looking for field mice and those lizards with blue tails.

Regards, Connie Lipscomb

Here's a pic of Brit, she has been a great dog.

Lisa, We just wanted to send you and update on Buckette (Lulu). She is doing very well as you can see and now has a kitten for a brother. Mop (get it, Mop and Bucket??) is a rescue kitty also and just loves to jump on Bucket's tail which is CONSTANTLY wagging. We all love her and she is finally complete now with her Mop! Thanks, Jeff

Lisa,

Buckett is doing very well as you can see. We rescued another dog this year, the Jack Russell Corgi mix and he gets along just great with everyone. Buckette is still as lulu as ever, you sure had that name right! Anyhow, just wanted to drop you a note letting you know we love Buckette VERY much and we thank you for your work. Jeff & Donna
